San Miguel joins the JD.com powerful e-commerce platform

 

  • The Company has joined the “Global Fruit Strategic Alliance” , initiative through which the world’s leading fruit companies are getting into e-commerce.  

 

 

Argentina, September 27, 2018 – San Miguel, a leading citrus company from the Southern Hemisphere, and Jingdong Shengxian (JD.com), a well-known e-commerce company and one of China’s major retail platforms, strengthen their relationship to market fresh produce through the e-commerce portal JD.com. The Chinese company has announced in Hong Kong its new “Global Fruit Strategic Alliance” initiative, intended to boost the fruit and vegetable market activity in that country.

 

It is a cooperation agreement to which, in addition to San Miguel, other 18 world-renowned fruit producers, such as Zespri and Wonderful Citrus, have also signed up.

 

This alliance not only recognizes San Miguel as one of the world’s leading companies in the industry, but also allows boosting the business development through e-commerce. At the same time, the agreement allows expanding the company’s presence in one of the markets with the greatest global growth.

 

Speaking at the presentation event, Wu Zhengzhi (General Marketing Manager of Jingdong Mall Fresh Food Division), explained about this initiative: “With the mission to reach the world and encourage consumers to eat better, Jingdong Fresh has been improving to fully roll out on a global scale, opening up from the origin to consumers. We will help our partners to explore the Chinese market, focused on a win-win concept.”
